Hi all

I'm a couple of months away from having a pregnancy. I have a son with a severe endometrial polyps, but the doctor says I need to be tested and a laparoscopy to rule out endometriosis.

I'm planning on getting a repeat laparoscopy (the same procedure, but with additional steps)

I'm looking into trying Clomid but haven't found much on its website. Can you give me some suggestions?

Thanks!

Nina

Hi Nina

Hi Lisa,

I'm a GP and now that my endometriosis is surgically removed I'm looking for a laparoscopy.

Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I want to start using Clomid with a lower dose, as it's not as effective.

Thanks

I'm looking for a repeat laparoscopy to test my blood. I'm currently on Clomid, so the only concern I have is if it helps. It's a bit of a hassle - it takes about an hour and a half to test and have my blood tested. I'm just hoping the doctor's office can prescribe it and give me a full course of action.

Thanks for the advice, and I'll give it a try.

Thanks,

It's good to know the results are not that surprising, as we are all just getting older. I have had endometriosis since my thirties. My endometriosis has been the same for almost a decade. The only difference was that the treatment was a laparoscopy, which is expensive for what we are doing now.

I've had a number of endometriosis treatments and have found that they work well. A laparoscopy is the way to go.

It's also worth noting that I don't have endometriosis on my other side. I'm trying to get a laparoscopy. The problem is, it's been a long time since I had a laparoscopy.

I'm still trying to find the answer for my endometriosis, and it's frustrating. It's hard to diagnose endometriosis with endometriosis, but it's hard to get a firm conclusion.

Thanks for any suggestions,

I was diagnosed with endometriosis at my local clinic in Boston. I was prescribed Clomid. I was prescribed the anti-estrogen for 5 months, which worked well for my endometrial changes, but not as good as the anti-estrogen. I was able to get my period and have no other health issues.

I'm not sure if Clomid works for endometriosis, but it's been my experience that it doesn't work for it. The best thing is that you can get a good look at your symptoms. I had endometriosis for 3 months, and I had endometriosis for 12 months.

What is Clomid 50mg tablets?

Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate) is a medication prescribed to treat or prevent ovulation in women who are not ovulatory. It works by stimulating the release of hormones that support and or but not all body systems.

Ovulation is the coordinated movement of the ova from the fallopian tubes into the uterus, causing the lining of the uterus to swell. Clomiphene is a medication typically prescribed to women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or other ovulatory disorders who wish to preserve their own ovaries. Clomid is not recommended for women who have not yet fully entered their mid-30s (ovulation is not guaranteed), because it can lead to ovulation abnormalities and an increased risk of other health conditions.

While Clomid is highly effective in treating infertility in women, it may not be suitable for all women. It is essential to consult with a healthcare provider to determine if Clomid is the right choice for your personal health profile. With proper guidance, you can overcome these challenges and achieve your intended husband’s and wife’sroitse.

How long does it take for Clomid to work?

The onset of action can vary from person to person. Some women may experience a period of time for several days to several months of consistent treatment with Clomid. For optimal results, Clomid should be taken roughly on an as-needed basis until day 10 of the cycle.

Clomid® has been approved for use by the FDA and is considered a safe medication when used as prescribed. Minor Clomid® side effects may include:

  • Headaches (1 to 2%)
  • Breast pain or tenderness (2%)
  • Hot flashes (10%)
  • Bloating (6%)
  • Nausea (3%)

In less than 1% of cases, patients develop a condition known as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). This is a serious and potentially life threatening condition. You should see a healthcare provider right away if you notice any of the following symptoms:

  • Stomach pain
  • Vomiting, diarrhea
  • Rapid weight gain
  • Decreased urine output
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Shortness of breath
  • Vision problems
  • Heavy vaginal bleeding

Clomid® use also increases the chance of multiple pregnancies (twins or triplets). The FDA has also reported potential conditions associated with clomiphene citrate use, including certain types of cancer and congenital abnormalities.

A 2014 study published in the journal looked at data on clomiphene citrate usage and prevalence rates of skin conditions that commonly occur in female infertility treatments. The researchers found 1 in 13 women taking the medication developed a complete list of these side effects.

The researchers went on to say that although the numbers weren’t high, they don’t mean a woman who has been trying to get pregnant for years won’t develop these severe side effects.

“We think there’s a lot of confusion around this topic,” says Laura Fugh, M. D., lead author of the study. “Women who are on clomiphene citrate may find it difficult to notify their healthcare provider about their medical history.”

OHSS is a serious and potentially life threatening condition that can cause serious health complications for both a woman and a family. This is Fugh’s first study to directly look into this problem and how it can affect women who are trying to get pregnant.

About Clomid®

Clomid® is a nonsteroidal triphenylethylene derivative estrogen agonist-antagonist drug that works by unequal the levels of circulating estrogen in the body. This makes it easier for women to get pregnant and has been shown to be a cost-effective option for women with ovulatory dysfunction.

Clomid® can be taken in various ways, including by selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) such as oestrogen and progestin. Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) can have estrogenic side effects and can also increase the risk of developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).

OHSS is a relatively common side effect of clomiphene citrate treatment. The condition occurs when the ovaries become accustomed to certain types of hormonal changes, which make them less responsive to these changes. OHSS is most often seen in women who don’t regularly ovulate or who have had no symptoms of ovulatory dysfunction since they stop using ovulation-suppressing medications.
